Major: English; Specializing in Literature and the Mind.
Specifically explored the psychological aspects of literature within the small subgroup of Lit in the Mind specialists at UCSB. Studied and wrote on the affects of poerty and prose on the audience, and the writer as a cathartic, unifying and ultimately humanizing experience.
Minor: Professional Writing for Civic Engagement
Focused on engaging American youth in becoming more cognizant of the health and wellness. Employed writing in the form of op-eds, profile stories, etc. to share knowledge on the importance of nutrition. Invested verbal and written communications in orgnizations who are combating the issue of american helath through the mediums of grants, correspondence, and teaching.

Taught a seven week block on nutrtion to first grade students with the goal of building a healthier America through inspiring the next generation.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Team in Training- UCSB Team Captain
Fundraised for blood cancer research while simultaneously training for two cycles of the San Diego Rock n' Roll Marathon. Took on the role of team captain for UCSB in which I organized weekly team practices, aided members in meeting fundraising goals, and brought energy and enthusiasm to the team!
